Legal expertise. With a human touch.


The challenge was not to explain what Burkhalter Attorneys do, but to make their positioning instantly clear in a digital context. The project focused on translating over 100 years of legal expertise into a contemporary experience that feels precise, human and confident across three locations and three languages.

At the core was a fundamental restructuring of the expertise section. Six key sectors now define the firm’s focus at first glance, supported by a reduced visual system that brings clarity to complex legal fields and gives the brand a sharper, more modern voice.

Swiss character


The identity is built on two Swiss typefaces chosen for contrast and precision. The existing blue was deliberately kept and refined to preserve recognition and origin. Photography plays a central role, using the firm’s villa and real working moments to show scale, craftsmanship and personality rather than abstraction.

A Liquid Glass design system adds clarity without decoration. Transparent layers, sharp edges and controlled depth create a modern but restrained aesthetic that reflects how the firm works: precise, calm and focused on clear outcomes.








High performance setup


Designed around a clean and scalable architecture, the platform is prepared for future expertise areas, additional office locations and a growing team. Built on WordPress with a complete content migration, the setup prioritises performance, SEO and long-term maintainability from the outset. A multilingual structure and an editorial workflow based on Gutenberg allow the firm to develop clear storytelling and manage content efficiently without technical complexity.





Restructuring the expertise areas


The UX analysis revealed that listing individual legal disciplines made the firm’s positioning harder to grasp for non-experts. Instead of enumerating rights and regulations, the structure was rebuilt around six core industry sectors that are easier to understand at a glance.

This shift allows visitors to identify their context immediately before diving into legal depth. Each sector is supported by a distinct visual language using abstract, high-quality imagery derived from its industry, creating clarity, orientation and a stronger sense of relevance.
